Low-cost environmental technology for community monitoring
The Kuenk@ Submarine is a floating device designed for real-time measurement of key water quality parameters in polluted watersheds like the Riachuelo. Its architecture combines recycled plastics with dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, and temperature sensors, connected to a LoRa network for data transmission in areas without traditional connectivity. Remotely controlled and self-propelled, it allows for georeferenced surveys and comparisons of conditions at different points in the river. This development promotes technological appropriation by neighborhood youth and environmental organizations, establishing a precedent for citizen science with data sovereignty.
